Elevate Ordinary
-
Elevate Ordinary explores and attempts to make practical the universal call to holiness of every Christian through engaging discussions on prayer, marriage, parenting, work, health, and other practical realities in the "ordinary" vocations of marriage and family life.
The show focuses specifically on helping to encourage Catholic spouses and parents in the daily journey of prayer and virtue lived in and through their vocations to family life.
From the breakfast table to the board room, learning arithmetic and weeding the garden, living out married parenthood or the celibate religious life; Elevate Ordinary is about finding a renewed vision of the astounding opportunities hidden all around us, and doing so through the most ordinary and wholesome of activities: deep, intimate conversations with those we love.
The host JonMarc Grodi, his wife Teresa, and special guests share their experiences, dive into the treasures of Catholic spirituality, and seek to "elevate" the ordinary aspects of marriage and family and to discover the ways that these aspects —rightly considered — are in reality the raw material out of which God wants to raise up saints.
-
JonMarc Grodi is the Chief Operating Officer of The Coming Home Network, host of The Journey Home Program on EWTN, and co-host of Elevate Ordinary with his wife Teresa.
JonMarc has a master’s degree in philosophy from the Franciscan University of Steubenville, with an emphasis on the Cardinal Virtues. Some of his favorite topics for discussion & writing are the virtues, the nature of religious faith, aesthetics, Catholic Social Teaching, the writings of G.K. Chesterton, C.S. Lewis, and J.R.R. Tolkien, and the many intersections of philosophy and theology in family life.
Teresa Grodi is a wife and a mother of five. Teresa received her B.A. and M.A. in History at Bowling Green State University, where she met her husband JonMarc. She has been involved in ministry in many capacities and currently organizes pilgrimages for Catholic Faith Journeys.
Teresa and JonMarc love to take walks and to discuss faith, philosophy, culture, food, the Domestic Church, the Feminine Genius, and the C.S. Lewis Space Trilogy, among other things.

Catholic husbands/wives and fathers/mothers in the 25-45 age group who want to live fully Catholic lives but are in need of encouragement, faithful witness, and practical advice on integrating prayer, sacraments, and growth in virtue, amidst the busyness of child-rearing, work, money, relationships, health, and other ordinary realities of family life.
In this group, we imagine many Catholic husbands/wives (like the hosts) who are "in the trenches" of family life — busy, overwhelmed, desiring to be fully Catholic, but struggling to find time to pray, to sanctify the mundane practicalities of their lives, to lead their families to Christ. These people don't need merely theoretical or informational trivia, nor do they need advice or instruction that is disconnected from their real concerns and struggles. But rather, conversations that enter into the challenges of family life, elevate them in light of the Gospel, draw in the wisdom of scripture and the saints, and culminate in practical advice and ideas for moving forward.
In addition to this primary target, the conversations and topics on the show are accessible, inspiring, and practical for Catholic adults of all ages and vocations, who are looking for principles and strategies for pursuing holiness in and through the ordinary aspects of day-to-day life.
Finally, we believe parish priests would find the conversations and content engaging and helpful in their ministry to Catholic spouses, parents, and families.
